NYOS Training Ensembles
Stephen West directs the Wind Training Ensemble

Following on from the success of the inaugural Training Ensembles courses in 2015, The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS) is delighted to announce that it will now be running 2 courses for each ensemble per year.

NYOS training ensembles, are designed for younger players around the age of 8-14 (grade 3 as a guide only) to prepare them for entry into a NYOS Orchestra.

Training EnsemblesThe training ensembles not only focus on learning repertoire, but also on essentials such as ensemble skills, listening skills, posture and musicianship along with advice on audition preparation.

The Wind Training Ensemble residential courses will be directed by Stephen West (pictured above) and take place one in spring and one in summer, students will pay one membership fee of £395 to attend both courses. The spring course is from Saturday 2ndMonday 4th April and the summer course is from Friday 15th – Sunday 17th July, both courses will be at Kilgraston School, Perthshire. The membership fee covers all activities, accommodation and meals during both the spring and summer course.

CLOSING DATE EXTENDED.  Applications will now close on Monday 29th February 2016.

Student places are allocated on a first come first served basis.
